The finnish organisation Mantsinen has pioneered the industrial porthandling. The core of the organisation consists of two central areas of business, the development and the assembly of indivudual and for the client tailored mobile loading machines as well as port cranes coupled with a comprehensive system for service and logistic.

Already in the 70ies Matinsen started off with the rental of machinery for tiber manipulation. However, the available machines were not able to satisfy the requirements for timberhandling. Thus, Manstinen began with the development of handling machines based upon crawling excavators. This base has remained unchanged to the current date.
